With increased numbers of undocumented immigrants crossing the border (Chiacu, 2021), ESL professionals need to redouble their efforts to participate in discussion and educational decision-making to better serve the public and learner needs. Interactive presentation will discuss false choices advocated by some activists followed by effective advocacy ideas and resources.
Dr. Janet Eyring, Professor Emerita of TESOL, CSU Fullerton, has taught ESL or trained ESL teachers for the past 42 years. Specialties are teaching reading/writing, adult ESL, pedagogical grammar, curriculum, and service-learning. She is currently an LDS Education Volunteer Missionary in online English Connect 3 Program for South Americans.
