Restoring the Mission to Mission Schools in Japan
Session 3 on Friday, March 11, from 4:15-4:45PM (PT)
The late 1880's brought many changes to the development of Christian education for girls in Japan thanks to the self sacrifice of American single missionaries. The schools remain, but have lost their sense of mission. This session highlights the extraordinary beginnings alongside the current state of Mission today.
Stella Millikan is an American missionary to Japan who grew up in the Tri-state area not far from Pittsburgh. Since 2002, she has taught English in junior high, high school, and university in Japan. For several years now she has been researching the missionary narratives of Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University. In her free time she enjoys raising farm animals.
